What stirring new escapade has Lawrence Wong been up to recently?

Montblanc’s 1858 collection was launched in 2015, inspired by the adventurous world of mountain exploration. This year, the watchmaker revealed the 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition 1858, a tribute to Italian mountaineer Reinhold Messner’s solo trek through the Gobi desert.

The timepiece features a sandy-beige fume dial with light and dark brown accents. It sports a bronze case, with split hemispheres on the dial that indicate the time anywhere in the world, a 12-hour second timezone display at nine o'clock, a date window at three o'clock, and a bidirectional rotating ceramic bezel that can be used as a compass.

In a new campaign for Montblanc, actor Lawrence Wong has been chosen to model the timepiece. Set against the backdrop of an infinite desert, Wong wears the 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition on his wrist. The desert symbolises “endless possibility one can realise to achieve their full potential,” read Montblanc’s press release.

Wong is a Montblanc Mark Maker, a term used to describe the brand’s ambassadors. Montblanc Mark Makers are known to be "passionate doers who pursue what they love and follow intuition over directions". “Lawrence’s relentless pursuit in venturing new horizons led by his passion perfectly captures the fortitude of a Montblanc Mark Maker,” said Matthieu Dupont, Montblanc Southeast Asia and Oceania president.
